Doomsday Home A base-builder where the base has wheels.

SkyRise Digital's train-and-reactor survival game: you keep a camp of blue tin cabins warm around a thing called the Ark, a red locomotive numbered 40 drags the lot across a wasteland, and the first upgrade timer you'll stare at reads 09:47. Free on Google Play, 10K+ installs, and — counted on 21 September 2026 — not one public review on the listing. So here's one.

Android onlyNo "Contains ads" label on the listingNo "In-app purchases" label either — see verdict

In-game camp: blue tin-roofed cabins ring the Ark reactor, which vents pink-orange plasma; the HUD shows 09:47, 32/32 survivors, 332.6M wood, 732,048 power and a quest 'Upgrade Dorm 1 to Lv.5 (4/5)'
Store art: red-faced locomotive No. 40 ploughs through a horde while three survivors fire from the footplate and a sniper lies on the roof of the ESSEX tender

The loop · one sitting

Wake up cold.
Go to bed with more roofs.

Every session is the same four beats. The game never says so; the quest log with the little red 22 on it does.

Frame 1 · Survive Doom

Look down the pit.

The listing's own words: you're "a survivor from a polar mining outpost". The opening view is the one on the first store frame — a terraced open-cast pit, a banner reading COLD ENDS HERE strung across it, and a train already curling round the rim. That train is the point. Everything you build has to fit on it.

Frame 6 · Build Shelter

Put tin on it.

The real HUD (frame 6, the only in-game shot) tells you what you're for: 32/32 beds full, 332.6M wood banked, 732,048 power, and a quest chain reading "Upgrade Dorm 1 to Lv.5 (4/5)". Dorms raise the cap, the cap raises the workforce, the workforce raises the timers. The one on screen says 09:47. Write it down; it grows.

The Ark

Feed the reactor.

Dead centre of the camp sits a riveted reactor on four pipe legs, venting pink-orange plasma over the roofs. The store calls it "the legendary Nuclear Ark — the final hope of human civilization". In practice it's the heat meter with a building attached: the cabins closest to it glow, the ones by the truck-trailer wall don't. You decide what to keep near it.

Frames 2 & 3 · Defend / Escape

Hold, or leave.

Two ways a night ends. "Defend Ark": four survivors and a Westie stand on the reactor's doorstep firing into a ring of grey bodies. "Escape Waves": the No. 40 locomotive ploughs out through them with a sniper prone on the ESSEX tender. The fork is the same each time — do you have enough guns to stay, or enough coal to run?

The one idea

Your home has
a timetable.

Most survival builders make you defend a spot. This one makes the spot leave.

Everything the camp is — dorms, the medical hut with the red cross on the roof, the generator cabin with the boiler on top, the Ark itself — has to be dragged behind one red engine when the horde gets thick. A longer train carries more people and more roofs. A longer train is also slower, and the back of it is where the biting happens. That trade, more than any of the numbers, is what you're actually managing.

Aboard a apocalypse train, you will harvest the last remaining rare resources, recover lost technologies buried beneath the ruins, and rebuild the legendary Nuclear Ark — the final hope of human civilization.

Couple the train, then run the gauntlet Add wagons. Longer = more beds, slower, bitier at the back. Click a wagon to uncouple it.

Engine 40 is in steam. Nothing coupled. The horde is a rumour for now.

The crew & the numbers

Six faces.
Nobody tells you their names.

The store art re-uses the same six characters across every frame, so I named them myself. The pips count how many of the six frames each one turns up in. That's the only ranking I can defend.

  • What stacks: dorm levels

The quest on screen is "Upgrade Dorm 1 to Lv.5 (4/5)" — five rungs per dorm, and "Dorm 1" implies a Dorm 2. Beds are the cap on everything; 32/32 is the number to watch.

  • What persists: the bank

332.6M wood and 732,048 power aren't run numbers, they're account numbers. Nothing resets. The timer (09:47 at the moment of the screenshot) is the only thing that goes down on its own.

  • What you dig up: "lost technologies"

The description promises you'll "recover lost technologies buried beneath the ruins" — a research tree fed by the cable-car pits on frame 1. The listing doesn't name a single tech, so neither will I.

  • What modes exist: six, by caption

Survive Doom · Defend Ark · Escape Waves · Trust None · Rescue Pets · Build Shelter. That's the store's own list, one per frame. "Trust None" is a night-time stand-off with torch-carrying humans — the only frame with no zombies in it.

Six store frames · captions cropped off

What it actually looks like.

One of these six is the game. The other five are the poster. I've left them in the order the store shows them.

A grey-haired survivor in a torn shirt looks down over a terraced open-cast pit; cable cars, cranes and a curling train, a 'COLD ENDS HERE' banner, and a black smoke column on the horizon
Survive DoomThe pit, the banner, and a train already doing laps. Render, not gameplay.
Four survivors and a white Westie fire in every direction from the foot of the riveted Ark tower while a ring of grey zombies closes in across the grass
Defend ArkThe whole crew on the doorstep. Note who's there: this is the roster.
Locomotive No. 40, red-faced with a lit headlamp, ploughs through a horde at dusk; two survivors shoot from the footplate and a sniper is prone on the ESSEX tender roof
Escape WavesThe engine's number and the tender's name. The only proper nouns in the whole listing.
A night-time stand-off in a stone village: torch-carrying villagers with rifles face the Sheriff and Headphones Kid across washing lines while Goggles hides behind a hung sheet
Trust NoneNo zombies. Just people with torches, and laundry. The most interesting frame by a mile.
Goggles kneels with a bandaged leg hugging the Westie while the Sheriff fires a revolver from horseback and a brown bear wrestles a zombie under a grey sky
Rescue PetsA bear is fighting a zombie in the background. Nobody mentions this anywhere.
The actual game screen: blue tin cabins around the glowing Ark, a truck-trailer wall along the bottom, rails looping the camp, HUD with 09:47, 32/32, 332.6M wood, 732,048 power, and a quest 'Upgrade Dorm 1 to Lv.5 (4/5)' with 22 pending
Build ShelterThe one real frame. HUD top-left, quest bottom-left, 22 things unread. Home.

Verdict · counted by hand

Nobody has rated it.
That's the review.

On 21 September 2026 I opened the Google Play listing for com.doomsdayhome.android from Ireland, the UK, the US and Singapore. None of the four shows a star average, a ratings histogram, or a single review. The "most relevant" review feed returns empty in every sort order.

That means there's nothing to cherry-pick — which is honest, but also means everything below is one person's week, not a crowd's. Normally the "most relevant" tab is a biased sample anyway (Google ranks by helpfulness votes and recency, so it over-represents the furious and the delighted). Here it's a biased sample of zero.

Store average: not shown. Google hides the score until an app has enough ratings; this one hasn't crossed that line despite 10K+ installs (the listing's raw counter reads 18,726).

Method: four fetches of the public listing (gl=IE, GB, US, SG; hl=en) plus the store's own review feed for "most relevant", "newest" and "rating", all on 21 Sep 2026. The hatched bars are empty on purpose — a fake 4.3 would be easier to look at and would be a lie.

Sourced from the listing, not from vibes

Six things that
will annoy you.

  1. The timer is the game.09:47 on the only real screenshot, next to a quest chain at step 4 of 5 and a badge saying 22 quests are waiting. That's a session you can't finish in a session.
  2. Five of the six screenshots aren't the game.Frames 1–5 are renders with captions. The bear, the laundry stand-off, the sniper on the tender — none of it is shown from the in-game camera.
  3. "Data isn't encrypted."Straight from the Data safety card, which also says the app "may collect" Location, Personal info "and 4 others". No third-party sharing is declared, to be fair.
  4. No ads or IAP label — which is not the same as none. The listing shows neither "Contains ads" nor "In-app purchases". In this genre that's a missing label, not a promise. Assume packs exist until the shop proves otherwise.
  5. The name has been used before.SkyRise shipped a different "Doomsday Home" (package com.lasthome.android, a prison-shelter builder, v0.2.8, July 2025). That listing now 404s. This is the second game to wear the title.
  6. Nobody's proof-read the copy."Aboard a apocalypse train." If the store text hasn't had a second pair of eyes, brace for the in-game text.

A survival builder with a genuinely good idea — the home moves — sitting on a store page that hasn't earned a single star yet. Free, so the only thing you risk is the timer.

Get it if

  • You like a builder where the layout matters — what sits next to the Ark, what sits by the trailer wall.
  • You want in on something before the store has an opinion about it.
  • You'll happily queue five dorm upgrades and come back after lunch.
  • A red locomotive with a number plate does something to you.

Skip it if

  • You want to see the bear, the laundry stand-off or the horse from the in-game camera. You won't.
  • "Data isn't encrypted" is a sentence you can't un-read.
  • You need a crowd to tell you it's good first. There isn't one yet.
  • You've been burned by a base-builder that turned into a shop at level 12. No label here says it won't.
